Systems Administrator

Job Functions

  • Acts as a front-line interface to users, accepting trouble reports and dispatching them to appropriate system administrators and engineers.
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of production servers, and Information Technology infrastructure (collectively, "Network").
  • Assist in specification and implementation of Network internal and external security plan.
  • Assist in the administration, backup and maintenance of Network.
  • Assist in implementing the Network disaster recovery plan.
  • Assist in implementing changes in the production environment for both, on-line and batch system.
  • Monitor system device capacities and status.
  • Support of mission-critical software packages (Windows, Linux, Apache, MySQL, Java).
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and regularly report results to Operations Manager.
  • Make recommendations for new/altered technologies that would contribute to System cost savings and/or productivity improvements.
  • Keep abreast of current network technologies.
  • Provide off-hours support.
  • Work on projects as assigned by Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Proficient user of Linux Operating Systems and Open Source Applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds and have excellent manual dexterity.

Software Test Engineer

Description: Validate the functionality of the Melodeo music service using manual and automated processes. Primary duties will be identifying test cases, automating them, executing them, and documenting the results. The software test engineer will work directly with software developers to understand the design and intention of the software to be tested.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field.

  • Minimum 1 year developing software using C, Java, Python or Perl.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a user of Unix

  • Successful verbal and written communicator
